California’s water resources have been severely depleted as the drought enters its fourth year with no sign of near term improvement. Large corporations and lawmakers alike recognize the gravity of the situation and have begun taking action – including launching water campaigns and implementing mandatory water cuts. Never before has there been this much urgency and publicity around the water sector and the need for innovative products and solutions. However, investments have not (yet) followed the media attention. As the drought carries on, the water innovation community needs to seize this opportunity to shape its future. During our day-and-a-half Summit, we will look at sectors such as agriculture, utilities, and energy from a customer-centric view through workshop-style discussions, and explore cross-cutting themes like financing mechanisms for water innovation and improving water management and measurement tools across sectors.
